The GPASC Annual Specialty Show took place January 23, 2004 at the National orange showgrounds in San Bernardino. Here are photos of some of the day's outstanding award winners:

Sadly, we haven't got pictures, but we'd like to recognize these winners as well:
Winners BitchThis lovely essay has been making the rounds of the Internet recently, but it's so well-written and rings so true for many dog lovers, that we wanted to share it with Pyrspectives readers. It's written by Crystal Ward Kent, of Portsmouth, NH. [Click to read...]
At this year's Great American Pet Expo, help April 2-4 at the Orange County Fairgrounds, GPASC members and their dogs made a big impression on thousands of Expo visitors. The Expo is a way to introduce the public to a wide variety of pet varieties, to showcase pet products, and to have a lot of fun.
Special Pyrspectives thanks go out to Ann and Carlos, Mark and Lance, Laura and Mike, Ellen and Lee and Em, Leslie and Alan and Allegra, for participating in the Pet Expo! You were wonderful and your dogs were fabulous! As a special bonus, Sierra, one of GPASC's Rescue dogs, was adopted by Leonberger couple in the booth next to us. Be sure to come out and join us at the Expo next year.
Haven't got enough Great Pyr goodies in your life? You might like to make a visit to this website: the bigwhitedog.net T-shirts, hats, tote bags, all emblazoned with a striking big dog image.
The site says this: "The Big White Dog.net is dedicated to helping less fortunate pets. The Big White Dog.net donates 10% of net sales from the store to local humane societies and rescue groups." So you can shop to your heart's content, and know you are making a contribution. How good is that?
Another rescue organization operating in Southern California can be found on the web at gentlegiantsrescue.com. They are located in Norco.
It's a really great-looking site, that works on rescuing and adopting Great Danes, Borzoi, Mastiffs, Greyhounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Saint Bernards, Great Pyrenees, Newfoundlands and (as they put it) "Other Large Lap Dogs".
