Claire Sends Us a Letter from Her New Forever Home

18 Month Female

This just arrived from Claire:

Hi Mommie Dottie!!

Well we made it all the way down to Escondido yesterday. It was a LONG drive for me. I wasn’t really very comfortable in the car. Mommie Karen got in the back seat with me and Noogie and that settled me down a bit. I REALLY wanted to get into the front seat though.

I went with Dad to the Salano Beach “Do it yourself dog wash” yesterday afternoon. I must have spent 3 hours getting washed and blow-dried by Dad. As you can see in the pictures, I clean up nicely! I really smell good now, with this coconut flavored hair conditioner. Then we walked around the corner to Pizza Port to show off. Lots of people wanted to know all about me, where I came from, what kind of dog I am. This was FUN for me, but the loud noises on some of the cars bother me a bit. I’m just a country girl at heart.

Dad took some pictures of me at the Rancho Bernardo Dog Park this morning. Lots of kids wanted to pet and hug me and Noogie. We went for a walk around the block at sunrise, and another walk just before sunset. I helped Dad mow/trim the lawn while more neighbors came by with their dogs to introduce themselves. I’m soooo wiped out! So many new things to see here. I think I’m going to like it here just fine.

Gotta go! I’ve got lots of naps to catch up on. I’ll write soon! I just want to say thanks for taking such good care of me while I waited to find my forever home. I’ll send some better pictures of me and Noogie when I get a little bigger and fluffier. Say hello to all my friends at GPA Rescue.

Love,

Claire Schermann
